Terms of Service
Last updated: January 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using NetStacks ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Software.
2. Description of Service
NetStacks is a network operations platform that provides SSH terminal access, device management, configuration automation, and AI-assisted network operations. The Software is designed to be self-hosted within your infrastructure.
3. License
NetStacks consists of two products with different license terms:
- Personal Edition (the NetStacks Terminal and Local Agent): licensed to you under the Apache License, Version 2.0. The full source is at github.com/netstacks/netstacks-terminal and is the authoritative grant. You may use, modify, and redistribute Personal Edition subject to the Apache 2.0 terms, including notice and patent provisions. The NetStacks name and marks are not licensed under Apache 2.0; use of the NetStacks trademarks is governed by separate trademark policy.
- Enterprise (NetStacks Controller): a separate, closed-source commercial product. Use is governed by the NetStacks Commercial License Agreement provided with your subscription. Subject to that agreement, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, internal-business-use license; redistribution, reverse engineering, and use as a competing service offering are prohibited.
The terms on this page summarize and supplement the per-product license documents. In any conflict between this page and a product's license file, the product's license file controls. Enterprise customers should refer to their executed Commercial License Agreement.
4. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your NetStacks installation
- Ensuring proper authorization before accessing network devices
- Complying with all applicable laws and regulations
- Keeping your credentials and API keys secure
- Backing up your configuration and data
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Software to:
- Access devices or networks without proper authorization
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Distribute malware or malicious code
- Interfere with or disrupt network services
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems
6. Data and Privacy
When self-hosting NetStacks, you maintain full control over your data. We do not have access to your network devices, credentials, or configurations unless you explicitly share them with us for support purposes. Please review our Privacy Policy for more details.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
8. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL NETSTACKS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NetStacks and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Software or violation of these Terms.
