Backup & Restore

Export your sessions, folders, and configuration to a portable file and import it back — to move to a new machine, share a baseline, or recover after a reinstall.

Overview

NetStacks keeps your sessions, folder organization, and settings locally. Backup & Restore makes that portable: export to a file you control, and import it on another machine or after a reinstall.

What's Included

An export captures your session inventory and folder hierarchy along with configuration. You can export everything, a single folder, or an individual session when you only need to move part of your setup. Backup history lets you see prior exports.

Warning

Treat export files as sensitive and store them securely. The credential vault remains encrypted, but an export is still your operational layout — keep it somewhere you trust.

Exporting

Choose the scope — all data, a folder, or one session — and export. The result is a single file you can copy to another machine or keep as a recovery point.

Importing

Import a previously exported file to bring sessions and folders into NetStacks on the target machine. This is the fastest way to stand up a new install with your existing layout.

Q&A

Q: Is this how I move to a new laptop?
A: Yes — export everything on the old machine, import on the new one.
Q: Does an export upload anything?
A: No. Export and import are local file operations handled by the Agent.
